K-9 Officer Elza
A German Shepherd, born in 2022
K-9 Officer Kita
A American Labrador, born in 2018. K-9 Kita graduated from the Union County Sheriff's Department Basic K-9 Academy in June 2018 and is certified in Narcotics Detection. K-9 Kita also participates in the Flemington Police Departments Community Policing programs.
K-9 Officer Jax
A Dutch Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix, born in 2015. K-9 Jax graduated from the Union County Sheriff's Department Basic K-9 Academy in July, 2016 and is dual certified in Narcotics Detection and Patrol. With patrol work Jax is certified in tracking missing people, locating missing articles, building and area searches, and apprehension work. Jax and his handler must re-certify in narcotics detection and patrol work every six months as per the New Jersey Attorney General guidelines. They also attend training twice a month with the Union County Sheriff's Department. K-9 Jax retired from Police Service in December 2023.
